A look at the 5 Black Stars newbies

Ghanaian Journalist based in the United Kingdom, Rahman Osman, has profiled the new players who made the Black Stars squad for the 2025 Unity Cup.
He provides an understanding of what Ghanaians are to expect from these new players if they make the starting lineup especially against Nigeria.

Joseph Anang is a 24-year-old goalkeeper who was once a West Ham United goalkeeper but now plies his trade with St Patrick’s Athletic in the Irish top flight, made 18 appearances with 22 goals conceded and 7 clean sheets in the 2025 calendar year so far.
Aaron Essel is a 19-year-old Ghana U20 youth star who plays as a centre back for MLS Pro League side, North Texas FC, on loan from Scottish side, St Johnstone. He recently featured for the Black Satellites at the U20 AFCON in Egypt and his leadership qualities were evident in all games he played in.
Caleb Yirenchi plays for Danish outfit, FC Nordsjaelland and has scored 2 goals and assisted twice in the league this season.
Abdul Aziz Issah plays for Barcelona Athletic and featured in the just ended U20 AFCON in Egypt where he dazzled and won two Man Of The Match awards.
Mohammed Gadafi Fuseini plays for Royal Union St Gilloise and has played a role in helping them make history by lifting their first ever league title in 90 years. He scored 11 times and assisted 3 this season.
