A towering symbol of grace

Dr. Bryan Acheampong, former Minister for Food and Agriculture and presidential aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.

In a statement issued on August 11, 2025, following the Asanteman Council’s announcement, Dr. Acheampong described the late Queen Mother as “a towering symbol of grace, wisdom, and cultural continuity, whose reign embodied the sacred traditions of Asanteman and whose influence extended far beyond its borders.”

He added, “Nana Konadu Yiadom III nurtured unity, upheld dignity, and served as a custodian of our cherished heritage. Her passing marks a solemn moment in our national history. Ghana mourns with Asanteman.”

Dr. Acheampong extended his condolences to the Asantehene, the royal family, and the people of Asanteman, saying, “I pray for divine strength and comfort for all during this period of mourning.”

He concluded that “the legacy of Nana Konadu Yiadom III will remain a beacon of leadership and love for generations to come.”
