Ablakwa bids farewell to German President after successful Ghana visit

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has extended warm wishes to German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier as he departs Ghana after a successful state visit that deepened bilateral relations between the two nations.

In a message shared on social media and sighted by MyNewsGh, Ablakwa expressed Ghana’s appreciation for the visit, noting that it left a lasting impression on all who participated.

“Ghana wishes you journey mercies, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier of Germany,” Ablakwa wrote.

“President John Mahama, Government officials, Asantehene Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II, Ghanaian business leaders and all our talented young people, including the kids you exhibited your incredible football skills with, will always cherish this memorable visit.”

The minister reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to strengthening ties with Germany through the timely execution of all joint projects and initiatives discussed during the visit.

“We shall work even harder and diligently to implement all the projects and initiatives both countries have committed to. Ghana and Germany shall remain inseparable,” he added.

President Steinmeier’s trip featured a ceremonial Guard of Honour at the Jubilee House, a private meeting with President John Dramani Mahama, and a series of bilateral discussions between both governments.

Talks focused on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, technology, and development, underscoring the shared vision of building a stronger economic and diplomatic partnership.

The visit, widely regarded as a diplomatic success, highlighted Ghana’s growing importance as a key partner for Germany in West Africa.
