Ablakwa hails ‘fruitful’ meeting with Finnish Foreign Minister

North Tongu MP and Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has highlighted the outcomes of a high-level meeting with Finland’s Foreign Minister, Elina Valtonen, on the sidelines of the ongoing United Nations General Assembly.
Ablakwa described the interaction as a “very fruitful and substantive bilateral engagement,” noting that the discussions covered a wide range of areas aimed at strengthening cooperation between Ghana and Finland.
“Very fruitful and substantive bilateral engagement with my counterpart Foreign Minister of Finland, Her Excellency Elina Valtonen on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly,” he shared in a post on social media.
He disclosed that the meeting explored opportunities for deeper collaboration in trade, STEM education, agriculture, intelligence sharing, scholarships, and mutual support for international organisational candidatures.
“We discussed deepening our cooperation in trade, STEM education, agriculture, intelligence sharing, scholarships and supporting our candidatures for international organisations,” he stated.
Ablakwa reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to its long-standing ties with Finland, expressing optimism about the future of the partnership. “Ghana deeply values our strong relations with the Finnish people. We shall accomplish more together,” he added.
The meeting took place as part of a series of diplomatic engagements by Ghanaian officials to strengthen international partnerships during the UN General Assembly.
