Ablakwa hails new Ghanaian envoys and announces improved conditions

Foreign Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has expressed confidence in Ghana’s newly commissioned envoys, describing them as capable representatives who will strengthen the country’s image abroad and advance its development priorities.

In a message shared on Facebook sighted by MyNewsGh, Ablakwa praised the third batch of diplomats and said he expects them to deliver on Ghana’s renewed strategic goals.

“Congratulations to our distinguished third batch of Ghanaian envoys. I have no scintilla of doubt that they will excel in enhancing the image of Ghana abroad and achieving our new KPIs to accelerate national development,” he wrote.

He also announced what he described as a major step forward for the Foreign Service, revealing that improved conditions of service and special duty waivers on imported vehicles for diplomats have been approved.

“I am also excited that a historic enhanced conditions of service and special duty waivers on imported vehicles for diplomats which I presented to Cabinet have been approved,” Ablakwa said.

He credited President John Dramani Mahama and Cabinet for backing these reforms, noting their consistent support for the ministry.

“We are grateful to President Mahama and Cabinet for their unwavering support for the Foreign Service of Ghana,” he added.
