Ablekuma North rerun: All You Need to Know

19 polling stations in Ablekuma North will tomorrow, July 11, 2025, go to the polls to elect a Member of Parliament.
The election is between Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie of the New Patriotic Party and Ewurabena Aubynn of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The constituency has not had a representative in Parliament after the December 7 election due to the failure of the Electoral Commission to collate the votes and declare a winner.
After several months of back and forth, the Election Management Body, after telling Parliament that they were left with 3 polling stations to collate, announced that there would be a rerun of 19 polling stations.
Although the New Patriotic Party (NPP) decided against contesting in the rerun, the decision by the High Court to dismiss their injunction application has forced the political party to join the rerun.
The governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) is optimistic that it will win the election because they have performed marvelously in the last six months of being in power and resetting Ghana.
But Akua Afriyie, who is contesting for the New Patriotic Party, believes she won on December 7 and will win on July 11.
Before the election, the Electoral Commission announced that the NPP’s Akua Afriyie leads with 48 votes. In all, 6,836 voters are expected to cast their ballot on July 11, 2025, in the 19 polling stations.
Here is the list of the 19 polling stations:
