Abronye remanded into police custody

Bono Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, known popularly as Abronye DC, has been remanded to police custody.
He is expected to return to the court on September 12, 2025.
Speaking to the media after his remand, his lawyer, Daniel Martey, expressed shock over the court’s decision to remand his client over a misdemeanour.
“The accused person was arraigned before the court, and it appears the prosecution just wanted him to be remanded. For whatever reason, you gave us an invite, we have responded to the invite, and the charges leveled against my client in court were just misdemeanors, and in law you will know that there are categories of offences, and misdemeanor is the basic one, and that shouldn’t be the basis why an accused person should be remanded,” he said.
Meanwhile, the police administration in an earlier statement said the arrest of Mr. Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye, was for what it described as “offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace.”
