Attorney-General Dr. Dominic Ayine has suggested that Kwabena Adu Boahene, the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau, may have acquired another citizenship through the wealth he amassed.
According to Dr. Ayine, investigations indicate that Adu Boahene holds two service passports, while the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) is actively pursuing intelligence suggesting he also possesses a foreign passport.
“The massive wealth he has accumulated, it is possible he has purchased another citizenship. Wife’s British passport in possession of EOCO,” the Attorney-General stated.
Adu Boahene was arrested by EOCO officials on Thursday, March 20, 2025, upon his arrival in Ghana from London Heathrow.
He landed at approximately 8:30 PM on a British Airways flight before being taken into custody.
