Agradaa jubilates as Mahama forgives Sammy Gyamfi in viral dollar video saga

Controversial evangelist Nana Agradaa has praised President John Mahama for showing leniency to Sammy Gyamfi, following public backlash over a viral video in which she was seen receiving a dollar gift from the public official.

In a video posted on her Instagram page on May 14, Agradaa expressed gratitude to the President for not taking punitive action against Gyamfi, who is the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Gold Board.

“God of Thunder. God bless John Mahama,” she exclaimed, visibly ecstatic and seen pouring powder on her hair in celebration.

“My fear was that Sammy Gyamfi would lose his job because of this incident. But my God did not disappoint me. Haters have been shamed. John Mahama, may God give you long life. Oseyie! Sammy Gyamfi has become victorious. We thank Jesus.”

The incident, which sparked widespread public outrage, involved a viral video showing Agradaa snatching dollar bills from Sammy Gyamfi during what appeared to be a casual meeting.

Many questioned the appropriateness of the gesture, citing concerns about opulence and ethical conduct by a public official.

In response to the uproar, the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, issued an official query to Gyamfi. After reviewing his response and apology, the Presidency, through its spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu, said no further action would be taken.

“You would recall that when President Mahama launched the Code of Conduct, he said one of the remedies for potential breaches is a public apology,” Mr. Ofosu stated.

“The Chief of Staff cautioned him, having acknowledged the apology and impressed on him to act in ways that reflect public expectation.”

He added, “The Presidency does not believe that any further action ought to be taken beyond the apology and the caution… Mr. Sammy Gyamfi has committed to ensuring that such an incident does not recur.”

Nana Agradaa’s reaction has added a new layer of drama to the saga, with her celebration going viral once again as she declared Sammy Gyamfi’s “victory” and gave praise for what she described as divine intervention.
