Akufo-Addo mourns victims of military helicopter crash in emotional tribute

Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed deep sorrow over the military helicopter crash that claimed the lives of several high-ranking government officials and military personnel in the Adansi area of the Ashanti Region.
“The entire nation is profoundly shocked and saddened by the tragic news,” he stated in a post on social media, referring to the sudden deaths of Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence; Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, MP for Tamale Central and Minister for Environment and Science; Alhaji Limuna Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator; Dr. Samuel Sarpong, National Vice Chairman of the NDC; Mr. Samuel Aboagye, a former parliamentary candidate; Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala; Flight Officer Manaen Twum Ampadu; and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
He acknowledged the official announcement by Chief of Staff Julius Debrah and shared that he had personally extended his condolences to President John Dramani Mahama, whom he described as Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, as well as to NDC Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah.
“I condole with our gallant men of the Ghana Airforce at this concerning time and salute their indispensable role in the public life of our country,” Akufo-Addo said, honouring the contribution of the fallen servicemen.
He concluded with a prayerful farewell to the deceased: “May they find peaceful rest in the Bosom of the Almighty, until the Last Day of the Resurrection, when we shall all meet again.”
