Former Western North Regional Minister, Joojo Rocky Obeng, has commended former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his unwavering belief in youth leadership within the New Patriotic Party (NPP), describing his own appointment to high office as a direct result of that vision.
Speaking on Channel One TV’s Face to Face, Obeng highlighted the former president’s consistent track record of empowering young, politically active members of the party.
“[Former] President Akufo-Addo naturally comes out as that president who has faith in the young politically active part of his party base,” he said.
According to Obeng, Akufo-Addo’s administration opened doors for many energetic, younger voices in the party—placing them in meaningful positions of influence and responsibility.
“He gave a lot of us opportunities—many were sent into Chief Executive positions, and others into ministerial and deputy ministerial positions. It was just natural that I would be part of the team he would call.”
