Akwatia, Tamale North MPs sworn-in by Speaker of Parliament

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, on Tuesday swore into office the newly elected Members of Parliament for Akwatia and Tamale Central, Bernard Bediako Baidoo and Professor Alidu Seidu.
This event took place this afternoon when Parliament reconvened for the 3rd meeting of the first session.
The two came into Parliament through by-elections after their successors died after the 2024 elections.
Bernard Bediako Baidoo comes in to replace Ernest Kumi, who died 6 months after the December 2024 elections after a short illness.
Professor Alidu Seidu, who represents the people of Tamale North, has come to replace Murtala Mohammed, who was one of the officials who died in the helicopter crash.
