Anlo chiefs demand MP’s identity over Zanetor Rawlings insult

The Anlo Dukor Council has petitioned the Speaker of Parliament to identify the Member of Parliament (MP) who allegedly made a disparaging remark against Hon. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings during the ministerial approval session on February 4, 2025.
In a statement signed by Togbi Agbesi Awusu III, Awadada of Anlo Dukor, the council expressed outrage over the comment, reportedly directed at Dr Agyeman-Rawlings, referring to her as the “daughter of a murderer.” The alleged outburst occurred amid heated exchanges in Parliament during the approval of Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
The statement noted that earlier speculation pointed to Hon. Abu Jinapor, MP for Damango, and Hon. Nana Kwame Asafo-Adjei, MP for Bosome Freho. However, both lawmakers have denied making the remark.
Togbi Sri III, the Overlord of Anlo, and the chiefs of the council have called for a swift investigation, demanding that the Speaker of Parliament reveal the identity of the MP responsible by February 10, 2025. They emphasized that identifying the individual would guide their next course of action.
The petition has been copied to key stakeholders, including Hon. Agyeman-Rawlings, Hon. Jinapor, Hon. Asafo-Adjei, and media houses across the country.
