The ongoing rift within billionaire Ned Nwoko’s polygamous household has intensified after Moroccan model Laila Charani publicly accused her co-wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, of introducing her to drugs and negatively influencing the family.
The accusation has now prompted a strong response from Nollywood actress Annie Idibia, who has waded into the controversy with a startling counterclaim.
Laila’s allegations, made in a fiery Instagram post, dismissed reports that Regina ever gave her financial support and accused the young actress of hypocrisy.
“How dare you say that you ever gave me money, for what exactly?” Laila wrote. “I am very contented with the provisions my husband makes for our family. We should show Nigerians our bank accounts to see who is paying money to our accounts.”
She further defended her husband, insisting he has always been firm on his principles.
“You also know that my husband completely hates alcohol, drugs, and smoking. He has always been clear that he would never accept any wife who drinks, smokes, or uses drugs,” she said.
Laila went on to allege that Regina introduced her to drugs years ago and almost ruined her marriage as a result.
But Annie Idibia, reacting sharply to Laila’s claims, accused the Moroccan model of twisting the truth and dragging other wives into matters stemming from her own personal issues.
According to Annie, it was actually Regina who helped Laila escape a dangerous lifestyle.
“My dear lady… the insistence on intervention that rescued me from that dark path,” Annie wrote, sustaining the transcript of her reaction. She then accused Laila of being the real negative influence within the household.
“You have been a bad influence since you married into this beautiful family giving drugs to nannies and our workers including your younger sister Destiny. You infected everyone with your virus and this is why I will not trust my daughters around you unsupervised especially when I found out that you were sleeping with every single girl around you.”
Annie urged Laila to seek help instead of deflecting blame onto others.
“Please go and sort yourself out. Seek help immediately and continue with your rehabilitation, and leave the other wives out of this. I say this not out of anger, but from a place of truth and concern for the level of lies that you are peddling for reasons that are known to you alone.”
