Annoh-Dompreh wins big in court as election petition is struck out

The High Court in Koforidua has dismissed a petition filed by NDC’s Amenorpe Philibert Fummey, who was challenging the 2024 parliamentary victory of Nsawam-Adoagyiri MP, Frank Annoh-Dompreh.

According to the court, there was no merit in the NDC candidate’s claims that the election wasn’t free and fair.

The case was thrown out after the NPP’s Director of Legal Affairs, Gary Nimako, filed for dismissal — and the judge agreed that the results declared by the Electoral Commission truly reflected the will of the people.

As if that wasn’t enough, the court also slapped the NDC candidate with a GH¢25,000 cost to be paid to Annoh-Dompreh.

Reacting to the ruling, Annoh-Dompreh said the judgement vindicates him and proves that the people of Nsawam-Adoagyiri genuinely chose him to lead them.
