Armah-Kofi Buah to present Ghana’s climate agenda at COP30 in Brazil

Acting Minister of Environment and Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has arrived in Brazil to lead the country’s delegation to the 30th UN Climate Change Conference (COP30) in Belém.
In a statement issued on November 5, 2025, the ministry announced that Mr Armah-Kofi Buah will represent President John Dramani Mahama at the Summit of Heads of State on Thursday, November 6.
As leader of Ghana’s delegation, he is expected to outline the nation’s climate priorities and commitments, emphasizing sustainable development, nature conservation, and climate finance.
According to the release, the minister will “deliver Ghana’s statement at the Summit of Heads of State,” and the address will highlight “Ghana’s climate priorities, commitments, and expectations for global cooperation.”
The statement noted that Ghana’s participation reaffirms the government’s dedication to international climate action and environmental protection, saying the country remains committed to “safeguarding the environment through knowledge sharing, rich dialogue, and mutually beneficial relationships with allied countries.”
The conference runs from November 6 to November 21, 2025, bringing together world leaders, civil society, climate experts, and negotiators to take decisions on global climate action.
