Attempts to score political points from Bawku conflict won’t distract me

Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga has condemned attempts by people to score political points from the conflict in Bawku.
According to him, he will not be distracted by their comments especially on social media as he remains focused on getting to the bottom of the issues.
He says he is committed to the peace process and has urged the youth to be in sync even though they think the pace is slow.
The legislator made this known in a statement issued on Friday April 11, 2025 to confirm his house in the area had been torched by unknown men.
“Kindly disregard lies being told about me by political detractors and people seeking shamelessly to take advantage of the current situation in Bawku and Kusaug to settle personal electoral political scores. The smear campaign on social media will not distract me. In the end, we will be vindicated,” he said.
