Barker-Vormawor slams justice system over Unibank case

Political activist and convener of the #FixTheCountry movement, Oliver Barker-Vormawor, has taken a swipe at Ghana’s justice system, citing the Unibank case as yet another example of the powerful escaping accountability.
In a sharp rebuke of what he describes as systemic injustice, Barker-Vormawor declared, “Unibank case: it seems we’ve grown accustomed to elites getting away with crimes.
When the powerful can navigate the justice system with impunity, you lose faith in governance itself.”
For many observers, the collapse of Unibank and its aftermath have come to symbolise the deep-rooted challenges in holding influential individuals accountable when institutions fail.
Barker-Vormawor, who has consistently criticised Ghana’s governance structures, suggests that such cases erode trust not only in the legal system but in democratic institutions at large.
