2024 Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, will officially begin his nationwide tour to canvas votes from delegates this week.
According to persons close to the campaign, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is expected to interact with delegates across the country to make them aware of the need to maintain him as flagbearer for the 2028 elections.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is expected to outline his vision for Ghana’s future, and emphasize his record of leadership and innovation during his tenure in government.
He is expected to highlight his achievements in digital transformation, economic management, and governance reforms while pledging to lead a government that prioritizes youth empowerment, job creation, and inclusive growth.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and his team picked number 3 on the ballot paper ahead of the 2026 primaries.
His team believes that the position on the ballot does not influence the outcome of the elections; rather, the work and track record of the candidate is what will do the magic during the election.
