Legal practitioner and lawyer Martin Kpebu has indicated that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is not an appealing candidate.
According to him, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is known to have assisted Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to unleash terror on the people of Ghana.
To him, such a candidate will not appeal to floating voters like himself, and the party will be shooting itself in the foot if he is fielded as a flagbearer.
Martin Kpebu was reacting to the October polls on the NPP flagbearer election by Global Info Analytics when he made this known.
“We can’t discount it, you know, the figures hardly lie. They should have seen that the last election speak volumes; that’s even putting it mildly. A man who went to the elections and got 41. something per cent and the context is that he had supported President Akufo-Addo to unleash terror, famine, death, and so much misery on Ghanaians,” he stated.
Adding that “Such a candidate doesn’t appeal to the vote. What we should be looking at is do you have a candidate that will appeal to floating voters like me? Bawumia won’t appeal to floating voters”.
