Bisiw alleges $10K bribe offer by ‘Kufour’s nephew’

Dr. Hanna Louisa Bisiw, a former Deputy Minister and current NDC National Women’s Organizer, has alleged that she was nearly offered a $10,000 bribe by a man who identified himself as Kwabena Kufour, claiming to be the nephew of former President John Agyekum Kufour.
Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Afternoon Ghana, Dr. Bisiw said the incident occurred during her tenure as the Administrator of the Minerals Development Fund.
She claimed Kwabena Kufour attempted to hand her the money as her “share” of inflated rent payments tied to the operations of the fund.
“I was approached and nearly given $10,000 as my cut from some inflated rent arrangement,” she said, adding that she immediately rejected the offer.
Dr. Bisiw suggested the move was part of a broader scheme of financial misconduct and emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in public office.
She did not specify whether the matter was officially reported to the authorities, but said she was speaking out to expose the rot she encountered.
