Black Stars Coaches Starved of Salaries for 9 Months; Kofi Adams remains adamant

Reports gathered from very credible and established sources within the football fraternity and the governing NDC architecture, is that handlers of the senior national football team, the Black Stars, have been denied their salaries for nine months.

This unfortunate situation has caused a great sense of uneasiness in the homes of the technical team.

Our source, who is within the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), expressed surprise that his own government had penciled $1.1 billion to purchase presidential jets but failed to pay national team coaches for nine consecutive months.

To the source, it will be shocking if the president of Ghana is aware of the hell the coaches are going through to ensure the Black Stars deliver the results expected of them.

With the World Cup draw a few hours away, it is worrying that although Ghanaians expect the coaching staff of the Black Stars to give their best, the country’s government is treating them like they begged for the job.

There have been several calls from the football fraternity to have this issue resolved, as it may have an adverse effect on Ghana’s output during the tournament.

An appeal was earlier made by international journalist Raman Osman, who argued that the country should not blame the coaches if the output of the senior men’s national team is below expectations because they can’t deliver on an empty stomach.

There are calls on the Sports Minister to act as a matter of urgency to secure funds or leave for someone who can and will ensure the welfare of the senior national team.
