Blakk Rasta slams gov’t approach to galamsey crisis

Blakk Rasta delivered a fiery condemnation of the government’s handling of the galamsey issue during his show on 3FM’s Urban Blend show monitored by MyNewsGh.

The reggae musician and radio personality voiced his frustration over the ongoing destruction caused by illegal mining, which has continued unabated despite numerous statements from political leaders.

Blakk Rasta criticized politicians for treating the issue as a political game, using galamsey to reward supporters during elections while ignoring its environmental consequences.

He said, “Galamsey has become a political tool. After winning elections, the politicians sit back and let the destruction continue.”

He also condemned the inaction of government officials, saying, “I am tired of hearing these politicians talk without any real action. For how long can we wait for things to change? The time for press briefings is over, we need real action now.”

The musician was particularly vocal about the rising pollution levels, stating that the situation was beyond control, with water bodies becoming more polluted by the day. “We are like Christmas chickens, just waiting to be slaughtered,” he remarked.
