Bodybuilding legend Ronnie Coleman hospitalized, cancels UK appearance

Eight-time Mr. Olympia winner Ronnie Coleman has been hospitalized in the United States after experiencing a serious medical emergency, prompting him to cancel a planned appearance in the UK.

The 61-year-old icon, considered one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time, was expected to attend a fitness event in the UK over the weekend but was forced to pull out due to his sudden health crisis.

Coleman’s team released a statement confirming his admission to the hospital on Sunday.

While specific details about his condition have not been disclosed, the statement described the situation as “serious” and asked fans and the public to respect the family’s privacy, avoiding unnecessary speculation.

The bodybuilder later took to Instagram with a short but powerful message for his followers:

“I’m staying strong through it all… I’ll be back and better than ever.”In a nod to his iconic optimism, he added: “Ain’t nothing but a peanut.”

Support has since poured in from around the globe, with fans and fellow athletes expressing solidarity and praying for his recovery.

Many regard Coleman not just as a champion in bodybuilding, but as a symbol of discipline and resilience.

Coleman, who dominated the professional bodybuilding world with eight consecutive Mr. Olympia titles, holds a record 26 wins in the IFBB Pro League.

Despite enduring multiple surgeries over the years, he has remained actively involved in the fitness community through speaking engagements, mentorship, and social media.

In recent years, Coleman was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Arnold Classic and inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame.
