Budget will be made public but Ghanaians should know it’s expensive taking care of Black Stars —Kofi Adams

Sports Minister, Kofi Adams has said that the ministry will disclose the budget for the two World Cup qualifiers.

However, he says Ghanaians should be aware that it is very expensive to take care of the Black Stats considering the fact that a number of the players come from Europe.

Although there were calls on him to disclose the budgetary allocation before the game, he felt it would be a distraction, hence the decision to keep it from the public.

“The budget for the team will be made available. There is nothing to hide from the public, but we must know it is expensive to take care of the national team because most of the players are coming from Europe.

He continued “people were asking me to disclose the budget for the games, but I kept asking myself what the budget will do for the team ahead of the games. Sometimes, some situations create distractions for the team so we should weigh every situation before making a decision,” he told Accra-based Asempa FM.
