Calls on Okudzeto Ablakwa to resign heightens

There are calls on Foreign Affairs Minister Okudzeto Ablakwa to resign from his position after Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang returned to Ghana in a private jet.
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who was on Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s neck in the past eight years for choosing to use a private jet rather than the presidential jet, is on record as having said that he will resign from any position if his government resorts to the use of a private jet.
He said he will resign as a matter of principle because he was not on the case of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for personal reasons but as a matter of principle.
“I will resign if the government I am a part of starts using a private jet. I will resign, why should I stay there? What I am doing is on principle, it is not personal. It is not about hating Akufo-Addo it is about protecting the public purse. I’ve done that before, I resigned from the Appointments Committee,”he told Adom FM i an interview while in opposition.
However, several hours after it emerged that Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang and even the President of Ghana have been using private jets for their travels, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa still remains at post.
The Foreign Affairs Minister keeps updating his social media pages with engagements he has had with other countries on Ghana’s behalf.
Members of the opposition New Patriotic Party in several social media posts have drawn his attention to his own utterances and have urged him to resign from the position he currently occupies.
