Cash reward offered for return of helicopter parts from crash site

The Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (ARCC) has revealed that some residents who arrived first at the scene of the tragic helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, reportedly picked up parts of the helicopter and other belongings found at the crash site.
In a statement issued by Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene, Ashanti Regional Minister, the council is calling on anyone with any items recovered from the scene — no matter how small, including metals, screws, drives, or circuit boards — to return them immediately.
Dr. Amoakohene said, “We are urging anyone in possession of any helicopter parts or belongings to hand them over without delay. These items can be returned to your Unit Committee, Assembly Member, Municipal or District Chief Executives, or any member of the investigating team present on the ground.”
To encourage cooperation, the council has announced a cash reward for those who voluntarily return any item before the close of business on Monday, August 11, 2025.
He warned, “After this date, anyone found holding onto such items will be considered a criminal and will face the full rigours of the law.”
The ARCC emphasizes the importance of returning these items to aid the ongoing investigation into the crash and ensure justice is served.
