Catholic Diocese of Ho announces passing of Rev. Msgr. Hilary Senoo

The Catholic Diocese of Ho has announced the passing of Rev. Msgr. Hilary Senoo, a senior clergyman and long-serving priest of the Catholic Church. The announcement was made in an official circular signed by the Bishop of Ho, Most Rev. Emmanuel Kofi Fianu, SVD, on Sunday, 30th November 2025.
According to the statement, Msgr. Senoo passed away on Sunday morning at the Margaret Marquart Catholic Hospital in Kpando. His passing coincided with the First Sunday of Advent, a significant period on the Christian liturgical calendar.
Born on 20th January 1938, Rev. Msgr. Hilary Senoo dedicated more than six decades of his life to priestly service. He was ordained on 27th July 1963 and went on to serve the Church in various capacities, earning respect for his commitment, humility, and spiritual leadership.
“It is with deep sorrow but faith in the resurrection that I announce the death of Rev. Msgr. Hilary Senoo,” Bishop Fianu wrote, calling on the clergy, consecrated persons, and the lay faithful to pray for the repose of his soul.
Funeral arrangements, according to the Diocese, will be communicated at a later date.
The late Monsignor is being remembered across the diocese as a devoted servant of God whose life and ministry touched countless lives.
“May his soul rest in perfect peace,” the Bishop’s statement concluded.
