Cedi at 12.10 to dollar, 16.18 to pound sterling

The Ghana cedi maintained relative strength against major foreign currencies at the close of business on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, according to the Bank of Ghana’s latest interbank foreign exchange rates.

The cedi was trading at an average buying rate of GHS 12.0940 and a selling rate of GHS 12.1061 against the US dollar.

Against the British pound sterling, the cedi exchanged at GHS 16.1660 for buying and GHS 16.1834 for selling, while the euro was quoted at GHS 13.6123 (buying) and GHS 13.6247 (selling).

These rates reflect the average interbank prices used by commercial banks for foreign currency transactions, signaling steady demand and supply conditions in the market.

The Bank of Ghana continues to monitor the foreign exchange market closely to ensure stability and support the local currency amid fluctuating global economic conditions.
