Cedi gains stability, sells at ¢10.28 to the US dollar

The Ghana cedi is showing signs of improvement against major foreign currencies, according to the latest interbank exchange rates released by the Bank of Ghana.
As of the close of business on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, the cedi was trading at a buying rate of ¢10.2749 and a selling rate of ¢10.2851 to the US dollar. This reflects a relative stability in the local currency after weeks of fluctuations.
Against the British pound, the cedi was buying at ¢13.8289 and selling at ¢13.8438. It also posted gains against the euro, trading at ¢11.5956 on the buying side and ¢11.6061 on the selling side.
Market analysts say the cedi’s recent performance may be attributed to improved foreign exchange inflows, prudent monetary policies, and measures taken by the central bank to stabilize the currency market.
The Bank of Ghana continues to monitor the forex market closely and has assured the public of its commitment to maintaining macroeconomic stability.
