Cedi holds steady at ¢11.84 to the dollar in latest interbank rates

The Ghanaian cedi remained relatively stable against key foreign currencies in the interbank market at the close of business on Wednesday, May 21, 2025.

According to data released by the Bank of Ghana, the average interbank rates used by commercial banks were as follows:

  • The US dollar was bought at ¢11.8441 and sold at ¢11.8559.
  • The pound sterling traded at ¢15.8320 for buying and ¢15.8490 for selling.
  • The euro was exchanged at ¢13.3311 on the buying side and ¢13.3432 on the selling side.

These rates indicate a steady performance of the cedi against major international currencies, reflecting a stable foreign exchange market amid ongoing economic activities.

The Bank of Ghana continues to monitor exchange rate movements closely as part of its efforts to maintain macroeconomic stability and support the country’s growth objectives.
