Afrobeats superstar Davido is reflecting on one unexpected moment that helped shift his global music journey — and it all started with a FaceTime call.
In a recent chat, Davido shared how his first encounter with American singer Chris Brown came through a mutual Nigerian friend.
“I got a FaceTime call from one of Chris Brown’s friends — he’s Nigerian too. While we were on the call, he asked if the song playing in the background was mine,” Davido recalled.
What happened next caught him off guard.
“I said yes… and then he tilted the phone, and I saw Chris Brown dancing to my song in the background!”
That spontaneous moment sparked a real connection. Davido said they spoke briefly on that first call, and shortly after, he made a trip to the U.S. to link up with Breezy in person.
“We met up, vibed instantly, and just clicked. The friendship happened naturally.”
