Claims of under-equipped Armed Forces are misleading – Dr. Seidu

The Deputy Director-General of the Cyber Security Authority (CSA), Dr. Jamaldeen Tonzua Seidu, has rejected claims that the Ghana Armed Forces lack the tools and resources to operate effectively in safeguarding the nation.
Dr. Seidu described such assertions as misleading and lacking factual backing.
He questioned the basis for conclusions suggesting that the military, particularly the Ghana Air Force, has limited operational aircraft or poorly functioning equipment.
“What’s the basis for saying we don’t have many operational aircraft or that they are not functioning well? Such conclusions may have no basis without evidential proof.
“We need to weigh what we have statistically against the overall operations they undertake, and then decide whether the Ghana Air Force should be commended,” he stressed on Eyewitness News.
Dr. Seidu commended the commitment of military personnel despite resource challenges, noting that the Air Force continues to deliver under demanding conditions.
“Under very trying circumstances, our men and women in uniform — particularly the Ghana Air Force — are doing their best. We are probably doing well, but there is always room for improvement,” he said.
He further urged a fair and evidence-based assessment of the military’s capabilities rather than relying on unfounded assumptions.
