COKA brightens life of Akrokere pupil with wheelchair and gifts

Former Afigya Kwabere South Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as COKA, has extended a heartfelt gesture to a 10-year-old disabled pupil of Akrokere D/A Primary School in the Fomena Constituency of the Ashanti Region.

COKA donated a brand-new wheelchair, an undisclosed amount of cash, books, school uniforms, a lunch bag, essential clothing, food items, and biscuits to the young girl, Margaret Amponsah, who has been living with a physical disability.

The donation was prompted by a viral video shared on social media by the girl’s teacher, Madam Asante Frimpomaa, which showed the pupil crawling on the school compound due to her inability to walk and the lack of a mobility aid.

According to COKA, the video deeply moved him, compelling him to step in with support.

“I saw the video of the child on social media where she was crawling on the floor without a wheelchair. Her situation touched my heart, so I decided to surprise her with a brand-new wheelchair, books, a lunch bag, school uniform, and essential clothing such as panties, homewear, and church clothes,” COKA stated.
In addition to educational materials and clothing, the philanthropist also donated cooking oil, tomato paste, canned mackerel, and a bag of rice to support the girl and her family at home.

COKA further encouraged the girl’s parents to be supportive of her education and overall well-being, stressing the importance of nurturing her potential despite her disability.

The donation was received on behalf of the girl by the Assembly Member for Akrokere Electoral Area, Mensah Kyeremeh, who expressed profound appreciation to Odeneho Kwaku Appiah for the kind gesture.

“We are very grateful to COKA for this generous support. It is rare to see such compassion, and we hope more individuals and organisations will emulate this act to support children living with disabilities,” Mr. Kyeremeh said.

The emotional moment left smiles on the faces of the young girl, her family, and the entire school community, who gathered to witness the act of kindness.
