Court eases bail terms for former NSB boss amid EOCO probe

An Accra High Court has adjusted the bail conditions for Kwabena Adu-Boahene, the former Director-General of the National Signals Bureau (NSB), reducing the initial GHS120 million requirement to GHS80 million.

Meanwhile, his wife, Angela Adjei Boateng, remains on GHS80 million bail, with two sureties required to be justified.

Despite the revision, both are still required to report to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) three times a week.

Additionally, their travel remains restricted, with any movement outside the country requiring EOCO’s approval.

The couple is facing investigations into allegations of financial misconduct, including fraud, embezzlement, and illicit transactions.

Adu-Boahene, who led the NSB from 2017 until February 2025, is alleged to have misappropriated substantial public funds.

Reacting to the court’s decision, their lawyer, Samuel Atta Akyea, remained hopeful that his clients would successfully meet the new bail terms.
