CR: Court orders Gomoa Fetteh Chief, others fighting over land to be of good behaviour

The Kasoa-Ofaakor Circuit Court has barred the Omankrado of Gomoa Fetteh, Nana Kwesi Kwaansah popularly known as Kwasi Alhaji and Patrick Ndego, an estate agent from engaging further in any form or violence with regard to a land dispute between the two.
This followed an application for execution of bond for keeping the peace pursuant to section 22 of the Criminal Procedure Act, 1960(Act 30).
The Central East Regional Police Command’s application moved before the court cited series of violent confrontations between the two on a disputed land situated within Millenium City Sector 5 in the Gomoa East District and prayed the court to grant the application as a measure to prevent any further violence.
The statement of facts presented before the court by police held that, “there is a real likelihood of violence occasioning per the activities of the Respondents if the Respondents are not bonded to keep the peace and that “the conduct of the Respondents pose security threat, likely to lead to a breach of peace and disturb public safety in the community”.

Police therefore prayed the court “to bond the Respondents, their associates, officers, agents, assigns and workmen for keeping the peace”.
The court presided over by Her worship Linda Amissah in granting the application held that a fine of GHC 30,000.00 and any other penalty deemed by the court shall be applied against the parties should they go contrary to the bond.
Patrick Ndego in an interview with 3News.com pledged to solemnly abide by the court’s directive.

In May 2024, a military officer was shot dead at Millenium City in an escalated violence arising from a land dispute between the two factions.
Following that, series of clashes have ensued between the two with the recent one occurring on the 13th January, 2025 in which according to police sources, various offensive weapons were drawn.
