Criticism against annulment of post-election recruitments into public sector misplaced – Labour consultant

A Labour Consultant, Seth Abloso, has disagreed with critics of President Mahama’s decision to revoke the appointments of persons into the public sector after the December 7 general elections.

Speaking to Johnnie Hughes in an interview on 3FM Sunrise, the labour expert said “anybody critiquing the revocation of appointments and recruitment made after 7th December 2024 is doing so out of sheer wickedness and hypocrisy”.

Mr. Abloso further questioned the legality and rationale behind the employment of these workers.

“All of us who want to be employed need to know that there are laid down procedures for securing jobs and the question to many of these people was that did they write an application, were they called for an interview? Who were the panel that interviewed them? Were you asked to do probation and medicals?” The labour consultant quizzed.

Seth Abloso called on President Mahama to as part of efforts, restore dignity and integrity in the public sector.

“It is sad for those who will suffer this, they have to suffer the consequences but as we move forward to resetting the country, we need to put integrity into the public place. It has been missing in all our public engagement, discourse and practices.” He suggested.

The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah in a letter addressed to all heads of government institutions directed the annulment of all public sector appointments and recruitment made after December 7th, 2024. He noted that the recruitments were non-compliant with good governance practices and principles.
