Dampare missing as President Mahama meets outgoing security chiefs

President John Dramani Mahama has acknowledged the service of outgoing security chiefs—but notably absent from his appreciation message was former Inspector General of Police, George Akuffo Dampare.
In a social media post, Mahama expressed gratitude to Isaac Kofi Egyir (Prisons), Julius A. Kuunuor (Fire), and Kwame Asuah Takyi (Immigration) for their dedicated service to Ghana.

“I am grateful to have met with outgoing service commanders Isaac Kofi Egyir (Prisons), Julius A. Kuunuor (Fire), and Kwame Asuah Takyi (Immigration) to express my sincere appreciation for their dedicated service to Ghana. Thank you for your leadership and commitment,” he wrote.
However, Dampare’s absence from both the meeting and Mahama’s message has fueled speculation, especially given the tension surrounding his recent dismissal and replacement with Christian Tetteh Yohonu.

No details have been provided regarding why he was not part of the engagements, but his exclusion is sure to spark further conversations about his controversial exit.
