Deaths as a result of the strike should be put at the doorstep of the health minister—Former GRNMA President

Immediate Past President of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), Kwaku Asante Krobea, says the death being recorded as a result of the ongoing strike is on the head of the Health Minister.
According to him, the solution to the impasse lies in his bosom.
He holds the opinion that it is about time the health minister lobbied the finance minister to pay the nurses what they are entitled to.
Kwaku Asante Krobea was speaking on Accra-based TV3 in an interview when he made this known.
He insisted that instead of the posturing of the Health Minister, he should rather focus on negotiating with the nurses because retired nurses are in support of the ongoing strike and will not offer their services.
“The fact that people are losing their lives and the condition of people is worsening is not in doubt. The solution to this crisis is in the hands of the Minister of Health, and it is about time he lobbied the Finance Minister and tried to pay the nurses their entitlement. People are dying, and the minister of Health is to blame.
He should not pass the back, the two parties must work together to find an amicable solution to the problem. The leadership of the Nurses and Midwives should prepare to bring their part. But considering the position of the Minister of health to come and hold the fort which I have told you will not succeed,” he remarked on TV3.
