Member of the New Patriotic Party’s communications team, Dennis Miracles Aboagye, has called out the chief executive officer of the Shippers Authority over his silence on illegal mining after the NDC won power.
According to him, just like Prof Ransford Gyampo made a big deal out of galamsey and made it an albatross around the neck of the NPP government, he should rise up and speak against illegal mining.
He recalled how Dr Mahamudu Bawumia was chased by Prof Gyampo with threats to sign an undertaking before the 2024 election.
However, he has gone silent on the undertaking because he has taken a position in government and cannot be seen rising against his own government.
“I dare Prof Gyampo to take the undertaking he claimed every flagbearer had signed before the election 2024 and call out the president. He chased Dr Bawumia and threatened to expose him if he did not sign the undertaking. However, after the elections, he has gone silent because he now has a post in government,” he said.
To Dennis Miracles Aboagye, it is shocking that all the persons seen to have been speaking up in official capacities are now silent while galamsey is on the rise under this particular government.
