Details of August 6 crash to be released Tuesday

The Minister in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has announced a busy week ahead, highlighting the presentation of the August 6 helicopter crash report.
He stated, “Tomorrow, the report of the August 6 helicopter tragedy will be presented to the National Security Council. On Tuesday, the details of the report will be made public at a media briefing.”
Speaking on the week’s events, he added, “On Wednesday, President Mahama will launch the ‘Nkoko nkitinkiti’ programme in Kumasi.
“And then on Thursday, the 2026 Budget, which brims with far-reaching policy initiatives, will be read in Parliament by the Finance Minister.”

The helicopter crash occurred on 6 August 2025 and claimed the lives of eight people aboard a Ghana Air Force Z‑9 military helicopter. The deceased are:
1. Edward Omane Boamah — Minister for Defence
2. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed — Minister for Environment, Science & Technology
3. Limuna Mohammed Muniru — Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator
4. Samuel Sarpong — Vice‑Chairman, National Democratic Congress
5. Samuel Aboagye — Former Parliamentary Candidate
6. Peter Bafemi Anala — Squadron Leader, Ghana Air Force
7. Malin Twum‑Ampadu — Flying Officer, Ghana Air Force
8. Ernest Addo Mensah — Sergeant, Ghana Air Force
