DNA Controversy: Ghanaians hunt for ‘adulterous’ MP

The internet has gone wild following claims that Abigail Aboagye, wife of the late Deputy Director General of NADMO Samuel Aboagye, was allegedly involved in an affair with an unnamed MP from Kumasi, a revelation tied to her reported refusal to allow a DNA test on one of her children.
Since the story broke, social media users have been on an intense investigative mission, determined to unmask the identity of the said legislator.
But one name quickly popped up in the rumor mill, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, the MP for Old Tafo. However, the young lawmaker has swiftly distanced himself from the speculation in a post that has since gone viral.
“Why are people calling and texting me like I’m the only Kumasi MP in Ghana? Please oo, I’m just here eating my waakye in peace, I don’t even own a cotton swab!” he wrote, adding a touch of humor to an otherwise tense online discussion.
Ekow’s reaction seems to have only intensified the public’s curiosity. Many are now narrowing their focus on who the real “Sakora MP” could be, as some reports allege the man in question is among the 39 New Patriotic Party (NPP) MPs representing the Ashanti Region.
For context, the Ashanti Region boasts 47 Members of Parliament, 39 from the NPP, 7 from the NDC, and 1 Independent.
That means, as netizens have jokingly put it, if Ekow Assafuah is out, then 38 more to go.
