Cooperate with investigations if you have nothing to hide

Popular radio host and musician Blakk Rasta has waded into the controversy surrounding Richard Nii Armah Quaye’s extravagant birthday party, demanding that the businessman cooperate with ongoing investigations.
The outspoken presenter made it clear that his concerns were not about policing personal wealth but about ensuring that the country benefits through proper taxation.
“My brother, my sister, this is not about the man; it’s about Ghana! We need to know if he’s paying the right taxes. We complain about potholes, bad roads, and lack of infrastructure, yet when it’s time to hold the rich accountable, we turn a blind eye,” Blakk Rasta asserted.
He stressed that the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) must take an interest in the finances of individuals who suddenly amass wealth.
“GRA, please step in. This country is hard. Money is scarce like salt in clear water, and yet some people can throw money around like it’s paper. We have the right to ask questions!” he said On his Urban Blend show on 3FM monitored by MyNewsGh.
Blakk Rasta also took a swipe at those defending the businessman, insisting that questioning wealth is a normal practice in any serious country.
“If you have worked hard and made money, why should you be afraid of an investigation? Unlike some people who say we should not care about how they made their money, I expect Richard Nii Armah Quaye to cooperate and clear the air,” he stated.
Drawing comparisons to past incidents where Ghanaian businessmen displayed extreme wealth only to later face legal scrutiny, Blakk Rasta urged caution.
“We saw this happen before, yet we refuse to learn. Money laundering, corruption, tax evasion—we cannot close our eyes to these things,” he warned.
