Don’t pray for Mahama to fail – Movement for Change Member

A leading member of the Movement for Change, Solomon Owusu, has called on Ghanaian politicians and citizens alike to put the national interest above partisan loyalties, stating that the success or failure of President John Dramani Mahama’s administration is a shared responsibility.

Mr Owusu Owusu emphasized that no Ghanaian should hope for the failure of a sitting president, regardless of political alignment during an interview on Starr FM’s The Verdict with Isaac Addae on Tuesday, July 22

“It will not serve my interest or your interest or that of Mordecai if President Mahama fails,” he said. “If Mahama fails, we all have failed.”

Owusu, who has been vocal about political accountability, urged leaders to be open to constructive feedback, insisting that criticism, when well-intentioned, can serve as a catalyst for national development.

“They [leaders] must be ready for criticism, not just criticism for its sake, because once they take it in good faith, it will shape the country for all of us, not for a particular party,” he added.
