Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum declares intent to contest NPP flagbearer slot

Former Minister for Education and Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe, Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has officially declared his intention to contest for the flagbearership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), should nominations be opened by the party.

In a bold and heartfelt statement shared widely across social media, Dr. Adutwum said:

“With humility, conviction, and a resolute heart, I, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, declare my intent to run for the Flagbearership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), should nominations be officially opened by the party.”

Dr. Adutwum is widely regarded as a transformative figure in Ghana’s education sector.

A trained educationist with over two decades of experience in the United States, he returned to Ghana with a vision to overhaul the country’s educational system.

His leadership as Minister of Education saw the rollout of major reforms, including the introduction of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) schools and a renewed focus on Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

Before his political appointment, Dr. Adutwum founded the New Designs Charter School in Los Angeles, California, where he was Principal and CEO, providing quality education to inner-city youth.
