DVLA land reportedly sold for $3 million – CEO speaks out

The Chief Executive of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Julius Neequaye Kotey, has spoken out on allegations of illegal land dealings involving the Authority’s former regional office at 37 in Accra.

In a Facebook post sighted by MyNewsGh, Kotey disclosed that he had visited the disputed site alongside the DVLA Board Chairman to assess the situation on the ground.

“Yesterday, I accompanied the Board Chairman to our former DVLA Greater Accra Regional Station, 37,” he wrote.

According to Kotey, portions of the DVLA land have allegedly been leased to a private company, while others have reportedly been sold for a staggering $3 million.

He further claimed that an alternative parcel of land meant to serve as a replacement for the 37 office is allegedly not registered in the DVLA’s name but rather in the name of a private developer.

“These are very troubling revelations. We shall not relent in using every legal means to get our land back,” the DVLA boss affirmed.

The matter has since sparked fresh calls for investigations into land acquisitions involving state agencies and alleged backdoor deals.
