ECG announces planned maintenance in Accra, Tema, and Volta on Wednesday, July 9

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a scheduled maintenance exercise to take place on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, across selected parts of the Greater Accra, Tema, and Volta Regions.
The planned maintenance, which ECG says is necessary to improve service delivery and enhance power supply reliability, will lead to temporary power outages in affected communities between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., depending on the location.
In a series of public notices issued over the weekend, ECG outlined the specific areas that will be impacted by the power interruptions.
Greater Accra Region
Maintenance works in this region will last from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The affected areas include:
Accra New Town Revenue Centre
Mallam Atta Junction
Kpehe
Adenta New Site
West Africa Senior High School (WASS)
Adenta Sakora
Kenkey House
Mandela
South McCarthy Hill
SCC
Sunny Coast
Abease
Achiama
Obeyeyie
Ayikai Doblo
Mallam Junction
Weija Junction
White Cross
Choice
Sampa Valley

Tema Region
Power supply will be interrupted from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the following communities:

Katamanso
Promised Land
Elegant Homes
Data Centre and surrounding areas
Volta Region
In the Volta Region, outages will occur from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and will affect parts of:
Klefe
Sky Plus Hotel area
Microwave
Taviefe
Matse
Dzologborgame
Akoviefe
Klave
Shia
Nyive and nearby communities
ECG has apologised for the inconvenience the planned maintenance may cause and advised customers in the affected areas to take necessary precautions and plan their activities accordingly.
“The ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” the statement noted. The company encouraged the public to stay updated by following its official social media platforms and customer service channels for real-time information on the maintenance schedule.
