Edinam Atatsi lands role on National Culture Board

Actress Edinam Atatsi has been appointed as a Board Member of the National Commission on Culture (NCC) by President John Dramani Mahama.

The veteran actress took to Instagram on Monday, August 4, 2025, to share the news with her followers.

Alongside a photo taken at the NCC office with Executive Director Mr. Wakefield Ackuaku, Atatsi expressed her gratitude for the appointment and pledged her commitment to the role.

Excellency, President @officialjdmahama, I am deeply honoured and humbled to express my heartfelt gratitude for appointing me as a Board Member of the National Commission on Culture,” she wrote.

“This distinguished appointment is a testament to your commitment to promoting Ghana’s rich cultural heritage. Thank you for entrusting me with this responsibility. I look forward to contributing my skills and expertise to support the Commission’s mission and objectives.”

The appointment is being widely praised in the creative industry, as many see Atatsi’s inclusion as a step in the right direction to ensure voices from the arts are represented in policymaking.
