Effutu hosts WERise Network’s GWES Regional Forum on Women Entrepreneurship

The Efftu Municipal Assembly, through the Business Advisory Centre under the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA) on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, facilitated the organization of the Central Regional edition of the 2025 Ghana Women Entrepreneurship Summit (GWES) in Winneba.

The summit, aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs by building resilience, developing skills, and promoting sustainable growth strategies to elevate their entrepreneurial ventures, was held under the theme “Redefining Prosperity to Enhance Productivity: Empowering Women Entrepreneurs through Business Development for Growth and Sustainability.”

Through WERise Network’s initiative, the event which attracted a diverse group of women business owners, and offered them a platform to network, learn, as well as grow, enabled the participants sail through an extensive training program that covered essential topics such as banking, insurance, health, and other key areas for their personal and professional development.

The women, drawn from various communities within the Effutu Municipality also benefitted from being equipped with the requisite tools and knowledge needed to build resilient and sustainable businesses, offering a platform for networking and fostering economic prosperity and financial independence.

Delivering the Keynote address, the Deputy Central Regional Manager of the Ghana Entreprises Agency, Baba Yunus Alhassan, emphasized the importance of fostering collaborations and learning from seasoned experts.

He expressed delight in seeing women entrepreneurs come together to build formidable relationships and acquire knowledge that will help them incorporate best practices into their daily operations and scale their businesses.

The Effutu Entrepreneurship summit featured a variety of presentation sessions on topics, including “Entrepreneurial Success Stories: Navigating Challenges and Scaling Your Business”, Your Finance, “Your Future”, “Formal Foundations: Building a Business that Lasts” and “Stress Management, Work-Life Balance, and Healthy Living”.

Representatives from Ghana Entreprises Agency, Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG), and the Ghana Health Service shared insights on navigating the financial landscape to drive business growth as well as promoting and living health -related lifestyles needed to help grow their businesses.

One of the highlights of the event was a presentation by a Local Entrepreneur, Madam Elizabeth Yeboah who presented on Entrepreneurial Success: Navigating Challenges and Scaling your Business which explored the journey of her successful entrepreneurship drive, emphasizing the role of mentorship and strategic partnerships in fostering the next generation of female business leaders.

Participants at the end of the summit, expressed optimism about the future of women-led businesses in Effutu and Ghana as a whole.
