Popular Ghanaian actor Seth Kwabena Kyere Karikari, widely known as Koo Fori, has pleaded not guilty to allegations of defrauding a U.S.-based Ghanaian of $50,000 under the pretense of securing land and building materials.
The veteran actor, famed for his role in the television series Efiewura, appeared before the Dansoman Circuit Court where he was formally charged.
According to the prosecution, Koo Fori is alleged to have taken the money from the complainant between 2021 and 2022 under false pretenses.
The funds were reportedly intended for the purchase of land and building materials in Ghana.
Koo Fori denied the charges when they were read to him in court.
The presiding judge granted him bail and adjourned the case for further proceedings.
